I Once Was

I once was the very breath
you took
You willingly danced with me
in lavender fields
We laid in the meadow
and listened to the sigh of the trees
on the breast of the hills

I once was the bird
who flew with you
to the roof of the
world
and plucked the stars
out of the sky
as a gift of
my eternal love

I once was your woman,
your lover, your friend -
and in dreams
you shall find I still am

In the dead of night
as you lie in your bed
I watch the place
where you lay your head

If you should feel
a gentle kiss
upon your lips
as you sleep
it is only my
thoughts
holding you
in keep.

One For Sorrow
Crow, fly your labyrinth miles,
take me into your mystery fold
I give you this damaged soul
For the darkness now
takes hold
Fly on, sweet bird,
fly on and be free
Fly on through the rain
and take this pain
For there's only
bloodied roses
left here for me.
Love once burnt deep,
so fierce and wild
now shattered it is like glass
thrown to the stone.
Darkness has come,
now beckons me -
"come home, come home".
Fly on sweet bird,
no longer love does he
My heart does break
and a dagger remains
Fly on, black bird
fly on -
for there's only bloodied roses
left here for me.

The death
The flower of love opens
Unfolds to an unknown destiny -
Then screams blood-red
Already it has began
to die.
R. Scott.

Memories catch a soul afire
As thoughts stand restless
in a silent sadness
The late night longing
raindrops chanting
on my window
In this cold dark room
his arms once held me
Now the dream poet cries
a soul ache sigh...
R. Scott

A rare precious gift,
to fall in love..
Dreams of destiny,
follow your heart
perchance to see -
Does the rain ever last?
My sweet bird of fate,
he does fly too fast
while I search for signs
to save my own soul.
